1. Kick Off: The foundation for FinOps success
The first step is the joint definition of the initial situation. Here, we create a common understanding of the FinOps framework and the FOCUS approach, which focuses on efficiency, transparency, traceability and collaboration. 4. Inform: Creating transparency through data
FinOps thrives on data. We identify all relevant sources for cost, usage and efficiency data in the cloud (and also on-premises). This data is analysed, bundled into reports and assigned to the correct cost centres using tags. This applies not only to costs, but also to sustainability issues such as the carbon footprint.
The consolidated presentation of all cost data gives teams insights into the most important KPIs. This turns confusing cloud invoices and on-prem environments into a transparent, controllable system. Here we use our Splunk App – which optimally implements FOCUS – and, if required, add further tools that contribute to your company goals.
5. Optimize: Increase efficiency in a targeted manner
The insights gained can be used to derive concrete optimisation potential. We help you to identify unused resources, scale instances and optimally manage Reserved Instances – just to name a few examples.
Cross-team collaboration is strengthened, processes for cost control are automated and reporting is optimised. This makes cloud usage not only more economical, but also more efficient.
6. Operate: FinOps as a lived practice
The last step is the sustainable anchoring of FinOps in day-to-day business. FullStackS supports you in implementing organisational changes, refining workflows and iteratively developing strategies.
